FME
FME is a powerful ETL solution for versatile transforming, translating, integrating and distributing spatial data. ETL (extract, transform and load) denotes extracting spatial data from a source, flexible transforming of a data model of spatial data and loading spatial data to a specific destination.
FME is a semantic spatial data toolset. It includes a rich data model, which supports every possible geometry and attribute type. Thus when loading spatial data FME is able to preserve the spatial data as it is. FME provides also a major amount of tools to transformation and integration of spatial data.
FME products include FME Desktop and FME Server. FME Desktop is available in different versions, which comprise FME Professional, FME ESRI, FME Intergraph, FME Oracle, FME IBM DB2, FME Microsoft SQL Server and FME Smallworld Editions.
